The PilatesPhysio Team
Rhiann Keys
Rhiann is a Body Arts and Science International qualified Pilates instructor, taught by an internationally renowned teacher-trainer for BASI.

Rhiann has several years of experience teaching a range of abilities, from clinical and rehabilitation Pilates, to clients with a high physical demand from their professions such as dancers and marathon runners.

Being a dancer herself, she has a thorough knowledge of physical anatomy and an important understanding of common movement patterns and posture. It is this knowledge, combined with her enthusiastic and challenging approach to teaching, that makes her clients reach their full potential without pain or aggravation to the body.

Working in this Physio-Pilates environment in conjunction with chartered Physiotherapists, she is able to liaise with the treatment provider, provide accurate exercise solutions to encourage healthy movement patterns, and create a pro-active approach to rehabilitation.

Gemma Andrews

Gemma was first introduced to Pilates whilst pursuing a professional dance career in New York, initially attending classes in order to supplement her dance training. Following a serious back injury Gemma relocated to Miami, Florida where she was fortunate to study under Brent Anderson, principle educator and founder of the internationally renowned Polestar method of Pilates, as part of her recovery. She then further developed her Pilates technique with Alba Carter of the Miami City Ballet.

Returning to the UK and after completing a BSc in Management Studies, Gemma undertook her Pilates teacher-training and certification with Polestar Pilates Education finishing top of her class. Her clients now range from a multiple sclerosis sufferer, to professional dancers, to office workers to marathon runners.

"Suffering a chronic back injury early on in my dance career, I witnessed first-hand the rehabilitative qualities of the Pilates Method and I passionately believe in the physical and mental benefits that Pilates has to offer. I completely equate my successful recovery with the Pilates instruction I was given and am passionate to pass on the method to others. My injury had left me unable to walk all but very short distances, today I am back dancing professionally!"

Gemma's background in dance and personal experience of the rehabilitation process has nurtured an instructor who looks at the whole body and can empathise with clients.
She specialises in private one-to-one sessions with a focus on body re-alignment to create healthy patterns of movement.

Gemma works here at Sammy Margo Associates in close co-operation with the physiotherapists, teaching both group classes and one-to-one sessions at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.

"I aim to motivate my clients to achieve their goals by providing a calm and encouraging environment in which they can succeed."
